Neil Lennon: Dunfermline Manager in Scottish Championship Battle

Neil Lennon is savoring the task of keeping Athletic Dunfermline in the championship after taking on the manager’s work until at least at the end of the season.

“I don’t know how long it will be and we’ll see each other while we go on,” said the former Celtic and Hibernian chief of 53 years.

“There is not much that you excite me at my age. But this does it. So I can’t wait.”

With seven remaining matches, the Fife Club occupies the Play -offs of relegation, six points above the Airdrieonians on the lower side and two points behind Hamilton Academical – with a game in his hand on both.

Lennon happens to Michael Tidser, who was fired after 60 days in office with Pars in a series of a victory in eight games.

The former Celtic captain lasted only three months in his previous work, having been fired from the Corce di Punta Romanian Rapid Bucharest in August.

“Managing any club on a professional level is a privilege because now there is so much competition for the work,” he added. “Some people can choose but others cannot.

“I miss. I had other offers to return, some from abroad and I no longer wanted to go abroad for personal reasons.

“This is local for me. My son also convinced me. So they are all beautiful things.

“The real thing is what happens at three on Saturday, when we have to play hard professional football and strive our best to win the game.”

Gallagher Lennon, 19 years old, currently on loan to Bonnyrigg Rose from St Mirren may have been part of the persuasion, but the co -owner James Bord has done most of the work to influence Lennon.

The president (David Cook) and the owner made a very compelling discussion for taking his job, “said Lennon.

“There is an old adage of Sir Alex (Ferguson) where sometimes you choose your owners rather than the club. I think we have a good one here.

“Further down he had some really good aspirations for the future of the club. I wanted to align myself with that.”
