Nintendo Switch 2 price, release date, revealed games


The new car will play Switch 2 exclusive games and those made for the original switch, some of which can be updated to the “Nintendo Switch 2 Edition” games with extra paid features. The examples provided include the legend of the Zelda Games Breath of the Wild AND Tears of the kingdomWhich can be updated with better graphics and a function that connects to your smartphone to give you indications.

Some game updates will add new content, such as in Kirby and the forgotten earth (which has a new area to explore in the Switch 2 edition) or Mario Party Jamboree (which adds the methods of minisocator based on the camera). Other updates will be mostly technical, such as with the Switch 2 Edition of the Procank Metroid Prime 4, which adds a choice of two video modes; 4K at 60 frames per second or HD at 120.

The console will also work with a USB-C camera, to be used in games or with the new chat function. Up to four players can chat on the internet with a camera or up to 12 with a voice only using the integrated Switch 2 microphone. Players can also share their game screens between them. A new button C is used to evoke chat controls, while chat function can also be moderated by the existing app of parental checks to limit the chat to approved friends.

Another new functionality allows Joy-Con 2 controllers to be dragged on a surface (or a user’s trousers) to act as computer mice. This has been shown in a new basketball game in a wheelchair call Drag x drive. And Nintendo is introducing a system called Gameshare for some Switch 2 games, which will allow players to invite their friends to a multiplayer game through multiple Switch systems (locally or online) with only the only user who has to buy it.

The system works with the existing switch online subscription that allows access to the cloud saving data and retro classics, with Switch 2 adding the Nintendo Gamecube games to the range. The voice and video chat will require a subscription.

Due to the updated storage requirements, Switch 2 will not work with the existing microSD cards, only with the new and expensive MicroSD Express format. However, the internal storage of the system has been increased to 256 GB, which means that it is possible to store multiple games before an SD card is required.

Nintendo has also presented a sort of interactive museum that will allow players to enter a wide range of development secrets on Switch 2, in the form of Switch 2 Welcome Tourwhich will be a paid download available on the launch day.
