Nrma insurance that helps customers recover quickly after the cyclone Alfred

With the effects of the former cyclone-tropical Alfred that is still taking place, Nrma Insurance is encouraging the members of the community in the south-east of Queensland and in the north of the new South Wales to give priority to safety.
The insurer is reminding customers affected to submit their requests as soon as possible to guarantee immediate support, including temporary housing and financial emergency assistance.
Julie Batch, CEO of Nrma Insurance, comments on the efforts for preparation for catastrophes.
“It is heartbreaking to see the devastation caused by the former Tropical Cyclone Alfred in the south-east of Queensland and in the new South Wales,” says Julie Batch, CEO of Nrma Insurance. “Our thoughts are with the affected communities, many of which have undergone multiple meteorological events in recent years. Fortunately, our evaluators and repairers have been able to access and are on the ground by providing emergency repairs and we have strengthened our staff of statements to help present the statements quickly.”
As the recovery efforts continue, the NRM insurance urges residents to take the necessary precautions when they return home.
Luke Gallagher, executive general manager of Nrma Insurance (complaints), says that security must remain the utmost priority.
“If you had to leave your property, please come back only when the emergency services have declared that it is sure to do it. Once you made you go on to go home, we advise you to take photos or videos of your home and damaged content”, recommend.
“We encourage customers to dispose of damaged articles that are not safe or represent a health risk, such as soft saturated furnishings that could become moldy and make a list of these articles, including the brand, the brand and the model.”
Steps to take if your home has been hit by bad weather:
- Present your complaint with your insurer as soon as possible. For insurance customers, this can be done online on NRMA.com.au/claims or by phone at 13 11 23.
- You can start cleaning up, but first take photos or videos of damage to your home and content to support insurance complaint.
- Remove or dispose of the articles damaged by the water from the property that can be unsafe or involve a risk for health, such as saturated rugs and soft furnishings.
- Keep a register of models or standard numbers of objects you are throwing away to help them replace them. If you are glazed objects like carpet or tiles, keep a small champion.
