Pakistan Super League: Ravi Bopara has appointed head of Karachi Kings coach
The ex -handyman of England Ravi Bopara was appointed head of Karachi Kings in the Super League Pakistan.
The 39 -year -old appointment, his first as a coach head in a large T20 League, comes after the spells as a player and assistant coach with the franchise.
“His journey with the player’s karachi kings and then as part of our technical staff reflects his profound commitment to franchise,” said the owner Salman Iqbal.
“We are confident that his leadership will bring new energy to the team.”
Bopara played 13 tests, 120 international one day and 38 T20 for England between 2007 and 2015.
From his last international he played in a series of domestic championships, even with Karachi who led in 2016. He will have to play for the Northamptonshire in the explosion of this summer.
The Bopara appointment, replacing the former international of the Western Indies, Phil Simmons, who has been appointed Bangladesh coach, immediately makes him one of the most high profile British coaches in the franchise cricket.
The former handy of ENGLAND ANDREW FLIGINTOFF is the only English coach in the hundred male and there are no British responsible in the Indian Premier League. Former England coach Peter Moores leads Melbourne Star in Big Bash.
Darren Gough, ex Bowler of England and Yorkshire, announced Friday that this year he will not take on the role of head of the coach to Lahore Qalandars due to personal commitments.
The PSL starts April 11.
