Passengers of the M1 line left pending while the door remains open
The passengers aboard a driver -free metro train were let the handrails grab during the top hours on Wednesday morning when a door was left open while traveling at high speed along the underground line on Sydney’s North Shore.
The accident occurred shortly after 8 on the service linked to the city between Chatswood and Crows Nest Stations on the M1 metro line.
Filming shows that passengers hanging from the railings while a member of the metro staff speaks in a two -way radio while the accident takes place. It is seen standing with another staff member with an earwheel while they prevent passengers from getting closer to the door.
The electronic signs above the door said: “This door is out of service”.
The dramatic accident occurred during the investigated peak hour in which the metro trains related to the city are often packaged. Wednesday is generally also the busiest day for the railway network.
Sydney’s subway was contacted for a comment.
The M1 line between Sydney’s Northwest and Sydenham via the CBD is managed by Metro Trains Sydney, a private consortium led by Hong Kong’s Mtr Corporation.
