Perth Man who killed his mother to learn her destiny; Important changes to the public sector

Premier Roger Cook has revealed a revision of the public sector, with the creation of an additional department and two main agencies in charge of providing transport, health and housing infrastructures.

The premier revealed a series of changes in the structure of the state government on Monday, which will see the department for work, tourism, science and innovation becoming the Department for Energy and Economic Diversification.

The Department will continue to have a transport of state agreements, important developments in resources and investments and WA Vigilation offices.

The exploration will be inserted in the department of mines and existing oil, while the responsibilities for the defense – including Aukus – will be consolidated in a new defense industry office within the Premier and Cabinet department.

The DPC will host a new early childhood office and will take command of Aboriginal affairs, while tourism will become responsibility for the Department of Creative, Tourism and Sports Department.

The supervision of the local government, trade, regulation of the sector and security will fall on an agency.
But the most significant of changes is to facilitate the mega pipeline of the mega government infrastructures, with the construction capacity of the whole government consolidated in the new formation office of the main infrastructures.

According to the plan, the new office will supervise the delivery of the main transport transport, health and port infrastructures.

In the meantime, the Department for Housing Building and the works will govern the delivery of construction, management and maintenance of the state housing, police stations and schools, stripping the finance department of that role.

Cook rejected the statements The move – which should have an impact on almost a third of the 25 government departments – constituted a tortuous back of its predecessor Mark McGowan of the government changes, which saw the number of departments reduced from 41 to 25.

He told the press that the review and creation of an additional office was appropriate in a post-covid world and in a moment of geopolitical instability and increasing construction costs.

“We need all the levels of government that pull in the same direction … if we want to face the challenges in front of us and seize the opportunities,” said Cook.

The premier kept the move would not have an impact on the budget.

The transition should start on 1 July 2025 and be finalized by the end of the year.
