Planning for games does not provide any measure of trust

How otherwise it could be explained that former premier Steven Miles calculated the Lang Park (Suncorp Stadium) could host the opening ceremony on 23 July 2032? How could someone ever justify the current Queensland Premier Premier David Crisafulli who is now abandoned political recrimination and promises to build any new stadium for games? How did that idea work?
The Olympic games and the hosting rights of the Paralympic games are assigned to the cities, not to the regions and certainly not to the countries. Los Angeles, Tokyo, London, Sydney and Rio de Janeiro – Each of those destinations is correctly city in the world. Everyone has fought in many ways to host games. The legacy left behind, in every instance, is questionable.

On the contrary, Brisbane is a large country city. I had the pleasure of visiting there in 2017. It is a place full of rustic pendants. A visit to the entertainment center of Brisbane remains unpacked in my psyche, as well as the words of the warning decorated outside the men’s room at the headquarters, which said: “Snakes active in this area – please row before use”. Fleeting, there was also a graphic designer, who depicted the typical inhabitants of the serpent of the headquarters.
While I hope I desperately be denied, I wonder if Brisbane has the actual ability – as well as the unbridled desire – to host the Olympic games and then the Paralympic games in rather quick succession.
These are companies almost not quantifiable for any city. Brisbane may not live up to the challenge. Because you cannot host the greatest show on Earth in an equivocal way that also satisfies those with games against games.
Rather, to host success games, the organizers must insert all their poker chips and then add more. Brave ideas and definitions are needed. The conduct of the subsequent governments of Queensland since the mid -2021 was nothing of this; It was an embarrassment of exasperation, political score and voodoo economy.
“I remained with the clear impression that there is a case of remorse of the buyer in Queensland.”
Now that the Queensland Games Independent Infrastructure and Coordination Authority has completed its 100 -day revision on the infrastructure requirements for Brisbane 2032 and now that the Government of Queensland has announced what the infrastructure plans are (until they change them more in track), the government could hope that the noise will stop.
It doesn’t have to. This is the third crack of Brisbane in presenting a plan that should be convincing, even if it is not convincing. Governments Love Commissioning revisions because governments therefore have a relationship to fall on to justify the decision -making process.

Governments must be kept strictly to take these issues into account. Currently, there is no evidence that the new Queensland political cohort has better skills and qualifications for organizing the Olympic and Paralympic games, compared to those they have replaced.
Hosting the rowing and canoe competition on a river in Rockhampton can be a solution, but it is at least strange if the river runs with currents that cause the violation of the technical requirements of world rowing. The entire thing of the crocodile festival is a bit of a fury but the currents potentially make fast and slow lanes in the regatta area. Certainly they are not.
Loor to send some sports competitions to the regional outposts of Queensland is not a unique idea, but has a impact on the idea that games are assigned to cities and not to regions or countries.
The fact that Crisafulli has abandoned his promises of the votes to build any new stadium for games, will surely turn on the debate on spending on new stadiums and sports infrastructures.
If the story is a predictor of the future, Crisafulli’s announcements this week must be treated with the utmost caution. For the overwhelming Scattergun of Penny Pinch’s policy that consumed the last four years of the Olympic and Paralympic planning of Brisbane cannot be swept away in a week.
Planning and decision -making process for the next Olympic and Paralympic games require courage and clear thought. Not even politicians are not so good.
