Police officers of the NSW presumably enjoyed free services at Eddie Hayson Brothel

During a 2016 press conference, Hayson said that judges, police officers and other people of influence participated in his brothel. When he was asked if he had ever tried to use their participation as a lever on them, he replied: “No, certainly not”.

Hayson’s press conference was held to deny the accusations of having been involved in fixing the matches of the rugby championship. He agreed on his press conference that he had provided free sex for footballers and jockeys, but denied expecting something in return.

“This is how I was promoting my business,” said Hayson. “Word of mouth is a very powerful tool.”

Hayson has never been accused of setting up the games and there have been no discoveries against him.

In 2006, Hayson and colleague player Steve Fletcher won around $ 2 million for a dive of betting after presumably having received information inside that then the Star of Newcastle Knights Andrew Johns would not have played due to an injury.

At the time, Hayson had racing horses with Johns and his brother Matthew. A subsequent investigation by the NRL did not find anything as a salesman and no criminal accusations were presented.

In 2016, Strike Nuralda’s strength was established to investigate the matches of Match-Fixing in the NRL.

The following year, the strike force announced that he had not found any organized match and no illicit was found against Hayson. But it was discovered that the players bet on the games they play in.

In February 2024, Hayson was arrested on the Gold Coast. The police said that on August 10, 2023, Hayson was involved in planning and transport of 16 kilograms of methylamine and five kilograms of Mdma from Sydney to Perth through a private plane. The drugs, which had a road value of $ 5 million, were subsequently seized in Perth.

His issue should return to court to mention April 3.
