Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti testifies to court for tax evasion costs

Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti said he “never thought of committing fraud” while testifying to court in Spain for tax evasion accusations.

Italian is accused of not having paid 1 million euros (£ 830,000) in taxes on his real salary during his first spell in office from 2013 to 2015.

Ancelotti began his second period in Real in 2021.

Public ministries are looking for a prison sentence of four years nine months and a fine of 3.2 million euros (£ 2.7 million).

Ancelotti is accused of paying taxes only for his real salary and of omitting income from image rights on his tax return.

“For me, everything was in order,” said Ancelotti to the provincial court of Madrid.
