Real Madrid needs “something crazy” to win the arsenal draw, says Jude Bellingham


“A place where crazy things happen is our home.”

That was Jude Bellingham’s warning for Arsenal players after his Real Madrid team they were beaten 3-0 by the Gunners In the first stage of the Champions League quarter -finals.

The two parts face each other in the second stage of Wednesday 16 April to Real’s Santiago Bernabeu.

The loss of Madrid on Tuesday was the joint defeat of the club in a direct elimination game of the Champions League and after the full -time whistle Bellingham said that his team was not “anywhere”.

Real Madrid has now lost five games in competition this season, a count that is equivalent to a club record.

And the victory of Arsenal was the twelfth time that an English team won with three or more goals in the first stage of a Champions League Knockout Stage draw, and every time the English team went to the next round.

Even so, the English midfielder believes that the truth is “still alive” in the Champions League, a competition in which they have a history of dramatic returns.

Last season a few minutes was missing from losing the tie in the semifinal with Bayern Munich before shooting things with two goals late at Bernabeu.

Three seasons ago they needed goals from the last game at home in Chelsea and Manchester City to help them stay in the Champions League.

In both these campaigns, Carlo Ancelotti’s team continued to win the competition.

“We need something truly special, something crazy really,” Bellingham said to Amazon Prime.

“We have 90 minutes of football and everything can happen to Bernabeu.”
