Reds Place of Austin Hays on Il; Spencer Sterza to start the active roster: impact on the team outfield plans

Cincinnati – The Outfielder Austin Hays will begin his first season with the Cincinnati Reds on the list of injured, the team announced on Wednesday, the day before the opening of the day. Spencer Steer, who should have started in Il, will instead be in the roster, but will be limited to the tasks of designator designated.

Tuesday morning, Hays reported to the team that his left veal was painful. Last season, Hays spent time in Il con the Orioles with a similar veal injury. The Reds manager Terry Francona said that the Reds were cautious and that Hays expected that they will return quickly.

Also with Hays in the feile, the Reds had a decision to take between three outfielders and two points. This has not changed with Hays’s injury because Steer took that place. In the end, the Reds selected the right hand that affects Blake Dunn and hitting the left -handed Jacob Hurtubiise for the last two external points. The right hand that affects Stuart FarcHild, which is out of the options, should be designated for the assignment on Thursday.

The final decision among the right outfielders was Dunn’s performance in spring, said Francona.

“Blake Dunn made his way to the team – and I mean this in a good sense,” said Francona. “This is what you want. He did everything you want. Speaking with him a couple of minutes ago, one of my challenges will be that we do not want to turn it into a platoon player. If something happened, he is probably the next boy who is an everyday midfielder.”

Steer, who returned from a shoulder injury, received a cortisone blow on March 1st and resumed both to hit and to launch. The plan had been to be about to be with the team while the shoulder rehabilitation continued and to get the beats with the team in Cincinnati. Instead he will receive his BAT in real games. Steer was the DH for the perspective team on the Tuesday exhibition in Dayton, going to 0 by 3 with a walk and a race. It appeared in just three Cactus League games, all in February, going 1 by 7. Steer will be limited to DH tasks, at least in the near future.

The Reds also officially announced that the Catcher Tyler Stephenson (oblique voltage on the left) was placed on the AL.
