Results by Doncaster: Godwinson wins Lincoln Handicap from the nose

Godwinson won Lincoln’s handicap with a nose in an electrifying goal in Doncaster on the opening day of the season of the British flat races of 2025.
Ridden da Cieren Fallon for coach William Haggas, Godwinson (17-2) made a late charge to Pip Two Rivals-Oliver Show (22-1) and Orandi (13-2)-line line.
In a crowded field of 22 runners, Oliver Show and Orandi accelerated the package late and seemed ready to fight for the victory.
But Fallon has planned his race to perfection on board Godwinson to give Haggas his fifth winner of his career in Lincoln and the first time as an audybb in 2018.
“We would certainly have been unlucky (if we hadn’t won),” said the winning Jockey Fallon in Itv Racing.
“It’s a horse that worked well and was unlucky. In the end, he went as we hoped …
“I always learned that I would be very competitive. He was in line, he lowered his head.”
Mr. Professor, who won this race in 2024, arrived 13th.
Previously to Doncaster, 50-1 Shot Pearl Eye won the spring handicap, ridden by Jason Watson for the coach Darryll Holland.
Thunder Roar (25-1) initially the victory was given when the two crossed the line, but the result was subsequently reversed in favor of Pearl Eye.
