RHYS MCKEE: First victory ’15 in Making “for Ballymen Fighter

Rhys McKee of Northern Ireland believes he has “finally arrived” in the UFC after having recorded his first victory in the organization on Saturday.
After losing his four opening attacks in the UFC, the 29 -year -old gained a “Performance of the Night” recognition with an impressive arrest victory over Daniel Funza in Romania.
“I probably never really believed how good I was up to this combat field,” Mckee said after meeting.
“I literally woke up every day dreaming how I will finish this fight. I only knew I would have won. It was in my heart and my soul.”
The Ballymen fighter dropped the Frunza several times during the opening round while the Welter meeting dominated.
His Romanian opponent came to Campania at the end of the first, but such was the volume of blows landed from McKee, the doctor made the decision to call the struggle.
“Rhys McKee has finally arrived at the UFC,” added the man nicknamed “Skelettor” after the victory.
“It was a deviation for a few years, but this victory was underway 14 or 15 years and we did it in True Rhys McKee Fight Fashion.
“Being 0-4 in the UFC, many people would not have had the trust I had and the courageous that I had to walk forward as I was. There will still be many people underestimating me, but carrying them forward.”
Mckee’s last release before Saturday’s victory was a decision defeat divided to Chidi Njokuani in March 2024 but with the victory now under the belt, the 29 -year -old wants to keep active and is targeting more fighting in 2025.
“I want three fights this year. To be honest, I don’t even know that month it is, so I will sit with the team and we will develop more and we will attach ourselves when we go later.”
