Rob Walter: the South Africa coach resigns citing personal reasons

South Africa’s white ball coach Rob Walter resigned, citing “personal reasons”.

The 49-year-old took over in March 2023 and led the proteas to the semifinal of the 50-over world cup later than that year.

They also reached the final of the T20 World Cup in the Barbados last year, losing a compelling final in India and this year in New Zealand in the semifinal of the Champions trophy.

“Coaching the proteas was an incredible honor and I am immensely proud of what we got together,” said Walter.

“The players, the support staff and the South African cricket community were fantastic during this trip.

“While it is time for me to move me away, I have no doubt that the team will continue to grow and reach even higher heights.”
