Rory Mcilroy: number two in the world can face the pressure of the masters, says Phil Michelson

Mcilroy, who has already won twice this season in the PGA Tour, led after each of the first three rounds in Augusta in 2011, but shot at 80 Sundays to end up in a tie for the 15th.

The American Mickelson, who won his first older one after 13 years on tour and has been classified six times at the US Open, does not feel that the story of Mcilroy with the tournament is preventing him from elusive victory.

“His ability to compartmentalize all the things that have emerged in the past is his strength, so I don’t think it will be a problem or I don’t think it is what holds him out of winning the teachers,” added the 54 -year -old.

Mickelson, who will play in the Miami of Liv Golf event this week, also believes that the Augusta National course is suitable for Mcilroy’s match.

“I think he guides the ball so long and straight that he has a huge advantage over that golf course.

“He and about 20 guys who guide him as he does will have an advantage of playing us in a certain way.”
