Russell Brand accused of rape and sexual aggression

The comedian Russell Brand was accused of rape, indecent aggression, oral rape and two counts of sexual aggression, the Metropolitan He announced.
The 50 -year -old is facing accusations related to four women on accidents between 1999 and 2005.

Responding to the accusations in a video published on X, Mr. Brand said he had never “never engaged in non -consensual activities” and added that he is grateful for the opportunity to defend himself in court.

“We carefully examined the tests after a police investigation on the accusations made after the transmission of a Channel 4 documentary in September 2023.
“We concluded that Russell Brand should be accused of crimes including rape, sexual aggression and indecent aggression.
“These refer to non -recent crimes reported between 1999 and 2005, involving four women.
“It will appear at the Court of Magistrates of Westminster for a first hearing on Friday 2 May 2025.
“The Crown Prosecution Service reminds everyone that the criminal proceedings are active and the accused has the right to a fair trial.
“It is extremely important that there are no relationships, comments or online sharing that could in any way affect these procedures.”
The investigative superintendent Andy Furphy of the Metropolitan Police, who is leading the investigations, added: “Women who have made relationships continue to receive support from specially trained officers.
“Met’s investigation remains open and investigators ask anyone who has been hit by this case, or anyone who has some information, to come forward and talk to the police. A dedicated team of investigators is available via and -mail at the address cit@met.police.uk.
“The support is also available by contacting independent charity, the rape crisis in the support line for rape and sexual abuse 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.”
