Ruud Van Nistelrooy wants Leicester about 2025-26 seasonal plans
Ruud Van Nistelrooy is looking for talks with the Leicester City hierarchy to make sure they are “aligned” on the team’s construction plans for the next season.
Van Nistelrooy’s team seems to return to the championship after Wolverhampton Wanderers, 17th in the Premier League, has opened a 12 -point gap on the 19th Leicester this week with only eight remaining matches.
It will be the second relegation of the club in three seasons with many of the current teams involved in both demotions and a lot of work will be required to fit the team for another thrust of the promotion, in particular with the financial restrictions that Leicester could face that it could force them to sell key activities.
“I think it is very important to be aligned on that with the club”, Van Nistelrooy, who stressed that he wanted to see this campaign, he said when he was asked if he had the hungry to stay as a manager in 2025-26.
“We have to find out in the coming weeks because, of course, arriving in December and how the winter window went (Leicester signed only the defender Woyo Coulibaly, due to the concerns of profit and sustainability (PSR)), bringing it to the new season and the challenges we face, it is very important for me to be aligned and what are the possibilities there.
“This alignment must take place.”
When asked when it was necessary to make that decision, the 48 -year -old added: “It must be resolved yesterday”. And when he was asked if he would look for speeches in the coming weeks, he replied: “I take my responsibility”.
Leicester has to learn from last summer
Many of the problems that Leicester has faced this season derived from an interrupted summer, with the loss of manager Enzo Maresca in Chelsea and the prolonged research of his successor Steve Cooper, who lasted only 12 games.
The pre-installation plans have been changed and Cooper had different ideas from Maresca during the summer recruitment, which proved to be difficult due to the threat of a PSR sanction.
Leicester cannot afford another disordered and confused preparation for the next season and the first decision that must be made is who will be the manager for the next season? If Van Nistelrooy must be that man, despite having lost 14 of his last 15 games in office, then Leicester should press in advance with plans that involve him.
Otherwise, the situation should be resolved as quickly as possible and preparations must start for the next season.
