Scotland must be based on “progress” against elite Germany says Weir

Caroline Weir states that Scotland must be based on “defined progress” in the League of Nations in the midst of a “transition period” for the national team without managers.
Scotland faces a double header against Germany, in third place in the world, after a 1-0 defeat in Austria and a 2-1 house loss in the Netherlands on their opening games.
They were both under the management of the temporary boss Michael Mcardle while Scottish continues his search for a new manager after the departure of Pedro Martinez Losa, following the offer failed to qualify for Euro 2025.
Mcardle will continue to lead the team to visit Germany to Tannice on Friday, before returning to Wolfsburg on the following Tuesday.
Weir says “clarity” on whom the next manager will be is the “most important thing”, but until then she and the rest of the team must focus on taking one of the best sides in the world.
“They are two really difficult games, but I think they are important for us,” Weir said to BBC Scotland.
“I am one of the best teams. I am interested in seeing how we do. Out of the back of the last field, that performance against the Netherlands, I think there are certainly some positive aspects to take.
“We have been competitive for most of the game as much as we didn’t get points.
“It is a transition period certainly for the team, the manager’s situation and therefore obviously the change in staff and players.
“But for us, it’s easy. We present ourselves, we want to be in the best possible form, prepare the best we can to play an international game.”
