Wales had come into play as disadvantaged having never won on French soil and having won only two of the last 11 outings of six nations.
But try from Kate Williams and Gwen Crabb has seen visitors a lot in the competition in half time.
Lynn admits that they were the French scores on both sides of the interval that proved decisive.
“I call those minutes of the championship, but the girls felt really sure to enter half a time and also the coaching staff,” he said.
“We have to take it positive because you are leaving here in front of an extraordinary crowd, in a fantastic stadium and we are competing with France.”
Lynn agreed that the final score did not reflect the effort of his players.
“I totally agree. 42-12 we are better than this, but the full merit in France, the way they played and opened, their exhaust game is typical” Jeu “and it is nice to see, but we are better than that.”
Wales will now go in search of their first victory under Lynn when they host Ireland at Rodney Parade on Sunday 20 April.
In the meantime, France remains on the route for a decision maker of the Grand Slam against the reigning champions of England on the last day of the championship on Saturday 26 April.
