Southampton: Ivan Juric challenges the saints to avoid being “the worst team of the premier league ever”


Southampton’s manager Ivan Juric has challenged his players to demonstrate that he is not “the worst team in the history of the Premier League”.

The saints are at the bottom of the table, 17 points from safety and relegation, having won only nine points from 29 games.

Derby county has held the record for the lowest count in the history of the Premier League, ending at the bottom of 11 points in 2007-08.

“The team must be competing and try to do our best. We must be really motivated,” said Juric, whose semifinalists of the Fa-Finalists Palace of Southampton Host Side Host on Wednesday.

“I don’t want it to be the worst team in the history of the Premier League.

“If we can’t be the last on the table, we have to do our best, so at this moment, this is our goal. I think we are in good shape, we can do it and we will try to win the game.”
