State school uniforms to abandon the branding requirements for shorts, pants, skirts and socks

“Schools can continue to have a brand on hats, tops, shirts, clothes and jackets – all from life up – because it is important for school pride and recognize students in the crowd,” said a spokesperson for the department.

Prime Minister Jacinta Allan said that uniform change was to ensure that parents made it hard had something less to worry about.

“Government’s school uniforms should be worn with pride, but we must make sure they are convenient for families,” said Allan.

The change follows the relationships of charity bodies, including the Smith and FoodBank family, of greater demand by families due to the crisis of the cost of living.

The relief of state schools, a non -profit that provides educational supplies to disadvantaged Victorian students, has reported an unprecedented question for its services in the last financial year. More than 94,000 families from 1344 schools have requested support for supplies, the 94 -year history of the organization.

The trousers and shorts constituted almost 20 % of the uniform, footwear and essential educational articles of 261,257 that the organization provided.

Victoria parents put pressure to reduce the costs of school uniforms and facilitate the burden for families for some time. The CEO Gail Mchardy, who also belongs to the rescue of state schools, said that uniform school policy must not have an impact on the right of a student to access public education.

“We hear too many stories in which students and the school workforce have an impact on the application of unreliable uniform political expectations, such as the use of compulsory uniform objects worn as socks, shorts, trousers and sportswear,” Mchardy said.

He said that providing school councils with clearer political parameters would help them choose convenient and practical uniforms.
