Steve Diamond: Newcastle Boss receives a ban on six games to abuse the game official
Diamond appeared in front of the independent disciplinary panel and admitted the violation of Rfu’s rule 5.12 – lead prejudicial to the interests of the game and/or the Union.
In summary, Sam Hillas Kc, the disciplinary panel chair described Diamond’s behavior as “completely unacceptable”.
Hillas said: “The language used was inappropriate, offensive and completely contrary to the fundamental values of rugby.
“There is no place for the abuse of officials of the game and this applies to the equality of strength whether it is professional game or the community”.
The panel believed that a six -games suspension was a “proportionate” sanction.
In his post -game interview after the game at Sandy Park, Diamond admitted to being annoyed with the officers, telling the BBC Radio Newcastle: “As the first game at the top in Newcastle was a close game – this was decided by the officers.
“In an attempt there was a clear act of foul and I don’t know for the life of me because the VAR man (video assistant) does not look at him at least.”
The Newcastle is at the bottom of the Premiership and the next guest Northampton at home on April 18, before the games against Bath and Saracens, Gloucester at Home and Leicester on the last day of the countryside.
