Sunshine Coast promised mass transport for 2032
The Crisafulli government has revealed a mass transit solution for the Sunshine Coast-Soprannominata “The Wave”-which would see rapid metropolitan-style buses complete an extension of the railway services from Brisbane.
While the LNP had promised to extend the railway services to Maroochydore, despite the questions about the budget and the period of time, the deputy prime minister Jarrod Bleijie last week he felt that the government could go “beyond Maroochydore” on his plan for the Olympic and Paralympic matches of 2032.
The solution includes a heavy track that crosses the Sunshine Coast University Hospital, where it connected with rapid buses to the Sunshine Coast airport in Marcola.
The mayor of Sunshine Coast Rosanna Natoli said that the transport project was the reason why the Region joined the Olympic offer of Brisbane.
Prime Minister David Crisafulli said that the government listened to the community and avoided stopping the heavy raw rail, which could turn Arterial roads at the southern end of the Sunshine Coast “in a parking lot”.
“We promised people who would have been able to get public transport to Maroochydore and head towards Brisbane, will be able to do it from the airport and this happened because of the review,” he said.
A heavy coast of the railway sun would have gone from the existing beerwah station to Birtinya, in the hinterland of Caloura.
“It became clear that the missed opportunity not to allow someone to be able to fly on the sunny coast and enter into public transport was too big.”
The announcement of public transport has been combined with an athletic village scheduled for Maroochydore – where the Council has developed a new city center for several years – and updates to the Kawana Sports precut and Sunshine Coast Mountain Bike Center.
The mayor of Sunshine Coast Rosanna Natoli said that updates would be a “long -lasting legacy” for the region.
