The 2028: IOC says that the Olympic return of the cricket will be as a six -team T20 tournament for men and women

The return of cricket to the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games will be as a six -team T20 tournament for both sexes, announced the International Olympic Committee.
The participating teams will be able to put teams up to 15 players in the field after the allocated shares of the IOC of 90 athletes per gender for the event.
The Cio has yet to reveal how the teams will qualify for Los Angeles 2028, but it is understood that the organizers are eager to use the cricket as a way to increase the interest of India for the Olympics.
India are the current T20 World Cup holders, they were a tie for fans at the 2024 World Cup that the United States co-ossened and represent a commercial opportunity for the IOC with sponsor.
Before being elected, the president of the Cio Kirsty Coventry met the international president of the Cricket Council Jay Shah in Dubai in the recent Champions trophy, where 2028 was discussed.
The only previous appearance of the cricket at the Olympics was in Paris 1900, when Great Britain won 158 races against France in a unique final, after the Netherlands and Belgium retired.
England and Wales Cricket Board is believed to have kept preliminary interviews with the cricket in Scotland on the plans to deploy a Teamgb.
