The eagles defend the “baptism of fire” of the debutant AFL
The West Coast Coast Coast Andrew Mcquarter defended the debutant Sandy Brock, saying that GWS Drivehead Jesse Hogan would even give the legend AFL Stephen Silvagna a headache.

Brock’s baptism of Fire came after Mcqualter had decided to abandon the key defender Harry Edwards, despite having lost McGovern at the beginning of the week.
But the first year coach defended his decision to play Brock, grandson of the legend of Australian Motorsport Peter, on Hogan. The 22 -year -old took nine interception possessions to combine the radius of the Australian defender Sam Taylor, and also closed with two signs of interception.
“It’s easy to say now, I suppose (to drop Edwards),” Mcqualter said.
“In fact, I thought – this will play crazy – but I thought that Sandy Brock really defended himself quite well and I showed some moments.
“I’m sure Sandy doesn’t have everything right.
“In the end, when you have a lot of ease with your ball flow in the middle of the ground, you could put Stephen Silvagna on him (Hogan) in the back line and would still have kicked some of them today.”
After reflecting on the magnets last week, Mcqualter opted for the sending of Eagles Oscar Allen Co-Captain from Avanti to Defense and put the Harley Reid midfielder in Halfback.
