After Abed was arrested, he said he lost sight of his two colleagues.

Abed said he was held by Israeli forces for about 15 hours, during which he was questioned and beaten. He said he saw the assistant help that is still missing, held by Israeli soldiers.

“They asked me where I was on October 7th, they were saying that the Palestinians are terrorists and that we are all terrorists. They also asked many personal questions about me and my family,” he said. “I felt to die.”

In the end he said that the soldiers made me checks before they decided to free him.

Nebal Farsakh, spokesman for Palestine Red Crescent Society, confirmed that Abed was working for the organization as a volunteer and was in Rafah that day with the mission.

“At that moment he had no idea if his colleagues were martyred or wounded and saved.”
