The man dies after the rescue in Zenith Beach, Shoal Bay


A 20 -year -old man died after being pulled by the water on an unpaid beach in the bay of Shoal, north of Newcastle.

Another man, also 20 years old, remains in critical condition after the couple was saved by surfing at 14.45 on Monday afternoon.

The couple swam in Zenith Beach when the friends on the shore noticed that they were in difficulty. After calling the emergency services, friends entered the water and reported the two men on the sand.

Good Samaritan Beachgoers and local police officers performed the RCP on men before the ambulance arrival, but a man could not be played and died on the scene.

The second man remains in critical condition, with the ambulance of the new South Wales who confirms that he is not transported to the hospital in an ambulance.

Zenith Beach is located inside the Tomaree National Park, a few minutes walk from the nearest road. National Parks NSW advises bathers to “take care” if they choose to swim on the unpaid beach.
