The Masters 2025: Angel Cabrera wins on the eve of Augusta returns after the prison

The former Masters champion Angel Cabrera is destined to compete in Augusta National for the first time in six years after his release from prison.

He will also return to the annual dinner of the champions Tuesday in Augusta National, who sees all the winners of the past gather for a meal whose menu is chosen by the reigning champion.
The conductor Ben Crenshaw – who won the masters of 1984 and 1995 – said: “I am excited to see Angel.
“The focus of the dinner will be on Scottie (Scheffler, the reigning champion), but it will be nice to get Angel.”
Before the masters of last year, Cabrera said to Golf Digest: “It is my dream to return to that prestigious place.
“I played in Augusta for almost 20 years in a row. It is like a second home for me. It would be a great privilege to return and participate in the champions dinner with so many of the greatest players in the world.”
