Mcilroy has not maintained the advantage of 54 holes in any greater from the United States PGA championship in 2014, a tournament that continued to win.

“I still have to remind myself that there is a long way to go,” he said. “I, as much as anyone else, know what can happen on the last day here.
“I have a lot of experience – and luckily I have a short memory.”
Saturday, Mcilroy started with three birds and an eagle in his five opening holes, and became the first player to open with six three to the masters.
Subsequently, he said it was a challenge to keep his emotions under control when they are so hot.
“I’m a momentum player,” he said. “There is a balance. You have to drive that moment as much as possible, but to temperate it with a little logic and logic.
“It’s a nice dance. I certainly don’t want to be a robot but at the same time, I don’t even want to be too animated.”
The stage is ready for a revenge with Dechambeau, who came from two shots with five holes to go to Pinehurst to win last year, and is never shy to show his emotions.
