The Trump administration shoots the maximum NATO identified by the conservative group
The Trump administration fired a senior NATO officer which was recommended by a conservative research group to be fired as part of a wider effort to eliminate participation from the Pentagon.
The vice admiral of the Marina Shoshana Chatfield, the only woman from the NATO military committee, was fired from the alliance during the weekend without explanation, according to multiple relationships. It is one of the only handful of three -star female navy officers and she was the first woman to lead the Naval War College, a job she did until 2023.
According to reports, Chatfield received a call from the administrator with Christopher Graty, the interim president of the Chiefs of relatives relatives, and it was told that the administration wanted to go in a different direction with the work, according to the Associated Press, citing officials. Chatfield, a marine helicopter pilot who also commanded a team of joint reconstruction in Afghanistan, had been one of the 32 representatives of the NATO Military Committee. The panel is the main source of military consultancy to the North Atlantic Council and the NATO nuclear planning group, according to NATO. It serves as a link between the political decision makers and the NATO military structure.
