The nineteen year old Vistma Lease a bicycle knight hit the front with just one meter to go after a punitive sprint uphill in wet conditions in Santo Feliu de Guixols.

The Tibor del Grosso of Alpecin-Deceuninck had launched himself from the leaders and seemed ready for the victory, only for Brennan to leave to chase him and in the end.

The British also managed to retain the Sprint Kaden Groves star (Alpecin-Deceuninck), which was on its wheel for the whole chase in a dramatic conclusion to the 178.3 km phase.

It was a fourth race victory in succession for Brennan, two coming for the Visma development team before ensuring his first professional victory at the GP De Denain.

The second phase of the vault brings the knights 177.3 km from Banyles to Figueres Tuesday, with the seven phases race that ended in Barcelona on Sunday.
