Trent Alexander-Arnold at Real Madrid: what Liverpool fans think like bodies of reinforcement on social media

There have been few transfer sagas in recent history that have divided the opinion of the fans in this way.
“(I) I can’t believe direct negativity towards Trent Alexander-Arnold and its potential to get away from Liverpool”, former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock written on X.
“I saw comments like” should be ashamed “and it is not” faithful to the club “. (They) are deluded.
“He has the right to make his own choices and challenge himself in a different league and a different country. He won everything with LFC, he was an incredible servant of the club and a great mandate should be given by the fans.”
Part of the problem for Alexander-Arnold is the inevitable comparison with Steven Gerrard, a local boy who rejected the opportunities to leave the club and improve his chances of winning the team and individual honors.
“Targa completely his image”, Fan Liverpool Rory He told BBC Sport.
“He had to follow in the footsteps of Stevie (Gerrard) and become the captain, a Liverpool icon. Instead, he decided to pursue personal glory and made mockery of his previous declarations of loyalty.”
Richard He said: “What hurts the most is that he made his contract drop to go for free. A player who not long ago wanted to become the club captain and now he doesn’t matter that we will not even have a commission to help him replace him.”
Keith He said to the BBC Sport: “I only wonder what color we should paint the wall in which his mural is painted. Any legacy as a legend of Liverpool was tenuous in the first place, but he is not good enough as a defender to reach anyway.”
On the other side of the debate, Liverpool supporter Stew He said, “I don’t keep anything against the starting Trent. He gave his best and won everything with the club. The greatest crime is (the club) that makes him go on.”
Jonathan He told BBC Sport: “Real represents something unique for English players, since so few have had this opportunity.
“Trent was a brilliant servant for Liverpool and playing for Real Madrid could help him develop in an even more surprising player.”
Gary He claimed: “Surely Liverpool fans should direct their anger against the owners and the direction that allowed a local player to get to the point where he cannot start at all, rather than the player for having accepted an offer from another club when Liverpool did little to try to make him stay?”
Alex He said: “Football is a deal and players get up and come to the autumn and the new ones arrive. You can understand why the club could be eager to cut some big salaries to finance a little emerging talent”.
Other fans use the departures of Fernando Torres, Michael Owen and Luis Suarez to argue that Liverpool will be fine without Alexander-Arnold.
“No player is bigger than the club,” he says Jed. “Liverpool has always managed to replace players without a lot of confusion.”
Liverpool returns to the action against Everton in the Merseyside derby on April 2, although Alexander-Arnold can lose due to an ankle injury.
If he plays again this season, all eyes will be at his reception by fans who have idolized him in the last nine years.
