Trent Alexander -Arnold Transfer: I was also tempted by Real Madrid – Wayne Rooney

I understand why Liverpool fans are angry and even angry at the thought of Alexander -Arnold who leave – all supporters like to see the local guys who cross their club and he never likes to see them sold.

I feel that it is the fact that it would be free that has shocked them more, but that situation depends on Liverpool and Alexander-Arnold.

We do not know why his contract was allowed to escape – or if it depends on him or on the club – but it is something that Liverpool has done with Mohamed Salah and Virgil Van Dijk also this season, and also in the past with Georusto Wijnaldum and Roberto Firmino.

Nobody seems to have said much about the other players who have let their agreements go down, only Alexander-Arnold. I think it is because he is a local boy, who looks a little unfair.

Alexander-Arnold was an excellent servant of the club, so you can’t admire it by wanting to try something new.

It would not be just a shame for Liverpool fans if he had left because you want to see the best players in the Premier League but, if he actually goes, I wish him every good.

However, as I discovered myself, just because there are speeches on a transfer does not mean that it will happen.

It is known that some United fans protested outside the home when they thought I would go in 2010, but I had agreed my new contract since then.

Alexander-Arnold has not yet signed anything with Real and would not surprise me if, even after all this speculation, after all, it ends up staying in Anfield.

Much can happen before a contract is signed, as I know from experience.
