Trent Grisham by Yankees affects 2 runs at home in Pirate on the pirates, the interviews of overcoming of 2024
PITTSBURGH – It would happen occasionally. Last season, Trent Grisham would have been in his locker or in a row for lunch at the stadium or taking the jokes. A New York Coach Yankees touched him and asked him how he felt. In the previous four years, Grisham was the defender of the departure center for the San Diego Padas. He won the gold gloves in 2020 and 2022. He was not used to this. He did not play every day and was not easy for him, inside or off the pitch.
It has become the worst demonstration of Grisham’s career. He only played 76 games, his minimum from his first season in the majors. He only hit .190. He did not receive AT-BAT in the playoffs while the Yankees reached the World Series.
“It was a learning experience,” said Grisham. “I had never done it before.”
This season has been very different for Grisham, who was the hero of a 10-4 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates in a PNC park soaked on Saturday afternoon.
Grisham has torn a couple of races in the house, including a shot of three shots in the fifth inning who canceled an advantage of 4-2 pirates. The explosion traveled 366 feet, several rows in the stands in the left corner. His other Homer arrived in the third inning to put the Yankees 2-0.

“Impressive,” said manager Aaron Boone. “Used line to align. Big Homer to let us go there, and then, of course, a large three -pitched Homer in the other side. Only higher oscillations, playing great in the center and (they are) excited for him and how well he is playing and how big it was for us soon.”
It was a continuation of the strong beginning that the native of Texas enjoyed. Entering Saturday, it was 6-for 13 (.462) with a humerus and three walks in six games.
Grisham got more playing time at the beginning of this year, since the Yankees used him as a defensive substitute for the debutant defender Jasson DomĂnguez when they tried to protect a late advantage in games. He also started the last two games, since the normal midfielder Cody Bellinger faced the estate in the lower back.
“It was nice,” said Grisham. “I was in a good place mentally. Staying in the present and continues.”
On Saturday RBI of Grisham helped to support the Yankees, while the starting launcher Marcus Stroman lasted only four inning and renounced four points.
They also got two doubles from the short Anthony Volpe, who led in three points. I nn. 7-9 Hiters (DomĂnguez, Oswald Peraza, Grisham) joined to go 5-to-13 (.384). Paul Goldschmidt also had three strokes.
“Trent is incredible,” said Stroman. “Trent is an everyday player. I think people forget him – who is an incredible everyday player, but you don’t see him in that light right now.”
Stroman believed that a constant game time had been enormous to Grisham.
“I think it’s necessary,” he said. “I think it is really impossible to be your best without constantly obtaining at-Bats and repetitions. What is doing at this moment is incredible. It is timing; they are repetitions. They are a kind of things you get as a batter; the more they are playing, the better they feel. The more things that has made you get off the bench, it is incredibly difficult to do.”
“(Grisham) embodies you what we try to do,” said Boone. “This is oscillating in good shots and being patient, but also having an aggression in there. This does not mean not swinging at the first shot. It does a good job in checking the area in a natural way. It can be a little passive. I think he is doing an excellent job of being aggressive and when he is getting a shot, he is punishing.”
Boone said Grisham seemed particularly beautiful in spring training.
“From the way he moved, his Bat-Bat, his (joke practices) had been really very strong,” said the manager. “I feel that his swing is in a really very good place right now, and he is playing with great confidence.”
For Grisham, it was a matter of understanding his role. It took him a bit to adapt to being a part-time player last year. In the end, he learned the nuances of his new job. He prepared himself every day as if he were starting, but he would have crossed his typical prayer routine in the fifth inning rather than before the game in order to be ready when he is called. A “mental launch” called it.
Grisham said there was no secret for his first success. He just needed to have the right mind.
“My swing was really nice during spring,” he said. “He had a good offseason, arrived in the spring and I felt really well. But I would have attested it to the mental work that I have done in the last year.”
