He begins with a flashback scene, reporting serious problems, but, in the present, Joel (Pascal) and Ellie (Ramsey) have been placed in a flourishing community in Wyoming over the past five years. Joel’s most urgent problem is now that he feels emotionally moved away from the 19 year old Ellie (Ramsey)-who has not spoken to anyone of his immunity to the virus. Catherine O’Hara and Kaitlyn Dever are the best additions to the cast, and although it open it slowly, it inevitably has a payoff rich in action that involves clicks-with the threat of new types of monsters to come.
