Two arrested after the 60 year old killed to death in the county of Durham | County of Durham


Two people were arrested after a man was killed to death County of DurhamThe police said.

The emergency services were called to Elm Street in Stanley at 5.20 pm on Saturday after the news of a disorder.

A 60 -year -old man was found with firearm wounds. He was declared dead on the scene by the paramedics.

Durham Constabulary said that a 37 -year -old man and a 35 -year -old woman were arrested on Sunday. The couple remains in custody, the police said.

A cord remains in place around the property while their forensic officers continue their investigations.

The following relatives of the victim have been informed and are supported by specially trained officers.

The Senior investigative officer, Det Supt Neil Fuller, of Durham Constabulary, said: “Our officers are carrying out large investigations and I am grateful for the support and cooperation that we have received so far from the community.

“I urge anyone who has yet to get in touch with us to do it. Please, do not take it for granted that we already know. All the relevant investigation will be explored.

“Our thoughts remain with man’s family right now.”

The police asked anyone who has information to call Durham onstabulary on 101, or 999 in case of emergency, citing the number of accidents 302.
