Two die during the fighting before the Copa Libertadores match in Chile

Two teenagers died following the confrontation between fans and police before the Chilean Club Collo Colo match against the Brazilian team from Fortaleza in the Copa Libertadores.
The deaths took place following fighting after the police blocked about 100 fans while trying to enter the monumental Santiago stadium.
“What is known is that one of the fences has crushed these two and an investigation is underway on the fact that a police car was involved in death,” said the local prosecutor Francisco Morales.
Local media said that the victims were 13 and 18 years old.
Police General Alex Bahamondes said that a police officer was accused in case and that “declarations concerning events have been taken”.
The group match in the Copa Libertadores began but was subsequently canceled.
The government body of South America Conmebol said that “deeply regrets the death of two fans near the monumental stadium”.
In a declaration, the body expressed its “deeper condolences to their families and loved ones” and said “all information relating to the events that occurred inside and outside the stadium” will be sent to its disciplinary committee.
