The United States should maintain its military presence on the European continent as it is now, said the best general of the United States in Europe, since the Pentagon examines its global imprint under President Donald Trump.

“It is my advice to maintain that posture of the force as it is now,” said the American Army General Christopher Cavoli to the legislators during an audition of the Camera armed service committee.

The American army has more than 100,000 troops in Europe, but the secretary of the United States Defense Pete Hegseth has told European colleagues that they should not assume that the American presence will last forever.

General Cavoli is the commander of the US forces in Europe and said that the military periodically revised his levels of troops on the continent since 2022 – when Washington paid 20,000 troops on the continent after the Russian invasion of Ukraine – but had recommended to break down the levels of troops.

“I constantly recommended during that period to maintain the forces we have increased and I would continue to do it if I was asked,” he added.

The spokesman for the United States Department of State Tammy Bruce said that the reports of Chinese citizens captured in Ukraine were disturbing.

He didn’t say if Washington verified the complaint.

Yesterday, Volodymyr Zelensky announced that Ukrainian forces captured two Chinese men fighting for Russia in Eastern Ukraine, potentially threatening a fragile peace effort in the three -year war.

Beijing is a Moscow diplomatic ally, but it is not publicly known for having directly helped the invasion on the vast scale of the Kremlin, which the president of the United States Donald Trump is trying to end quickly.

The Ukrainian president described the move as “absolutely justified” while Ukraine seems to avoid Russian progress, such as Moscow delays the negotiations of ceased the fire in an apparent effort to grasp more land.

China and Russia have not yet commented on Mr. Zelensky on Chinese fighters.

Previously, Russia has never explicitly confirmed by using North Korean troops in its Kursk region despite the contrary -overwhelming evidence.

Ukrainian forces captured two Chinese men fighting for Russia in Eastern Ukraine, said Volodymyr Zelensky, sharing a video of one of the caught soldiers.

“Our military captured two Chinese citizens who were fighting as part of the Russian army. This happened in the Ukrainian territory – in the Donetsk region. Identification documents, banking cards and personal data were found in their possession,” said Zelensky.

The video shared by Mr Zelensky showed a man with tied hands and imitate war noises.

There are “many more Chinese citizens” who fight together with the Russian forces, said Zelensky.

At least 17 people were injured in Ukraine yesterday after Russia staged huge attacks of drones in different cities, they said regional officials.

The Ukrainian cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv, near the first time line, found themselves under a strong bombing and saw several fires.

The attack on Dnipro in the South -est of Ukraine unleashed a fire, damaged houses and cars and wounded 14 people, said Serhiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region.

Half of the wounded was in the hospital and a woman was in serious condition.

In the Eastern Donetsk, a residential area was attacked in the city of Kramatorsk and local officials said that the residents were injured.

Eastern Donetsk was a focal point of the 600 km front line line (600 miles) in the war of over three years.

In the northern city -oriental of Kharkiv, affected by drones attacks almost every evening last week, the mayor Ihor Terekhov said there had been more than 20 strikes and a series of explosions.
