Walker Zimmerman by Nashville SC released from the hospital after the head injury

The captain of Nashville SC and the defender of the US national team team Walker Zimmerman were released from the hospital after receiving medical treatment following a head injury on Saturday evening, confirmed a club spokesperson.
The 31-year-old defender was brought off the pitch and in the hospital briefly following a football in the face in the 72nd minute in the 2-1 defeat of his team against Charlotte FC at the Bank of America Stadium.
Charlotte Kerwin Vargas’s striker had tried a bicycle kick near the penalty when Zimmerman dived forward to direct the ball from a dangerous territory. Vargas’ foot collided with Zimmerman’s face and the defender quickly fell to the ground.
The referee repeatedly skipped the whistle while the players surrounded Zimmerman and the coaches rushed to his aid. He was quickly put on a stretcher with a tutor on his neck and then moved off the pitch.
Nashville Sc Bj Callaghan’s coach said that Zimmerman was taken to a local hospital after the game where he was in “stable and” reactive “conditions.
“Everything is managed by medical professionals,” said Callaghan. “We will let that process take his place but he is under care. (We) We send him the best vibrations we can.”
Nashville’s defender Daniel Lovitz praised his teammate after the game, adding that the scene was “difficult to look at” to take place.
“I played with Walker long enough to see him put his head in some crazy situations, and frankly, it is what makes him great and such a precious part of our team and a weapon so offensively and defensively,” said Lovitz.
“This is just a difficult situation. You have a boy who tries to score a spectacular goal that has no bad intent, he has no idea that Walker will attack your head (who) is just trying to score a goal. And Walker puts his face there to try to save a goal and, in the end, was hard.”
Vargas received a yellow card after their collision.
Zimmerman was subsequently called “Man of the Match”, with his club shared in a post, “All Behind Our Captain”.
