Washington HS Athletics unable to change the trans-party policy, affirms officer
Washington seems to be the last state that is preparing for a showdown on his decision to allow biological males to play in women and female sports despite the president Donald Trump ‘S Executive Order in February.
THE Association of Washington’s interscholastic activities The representative assembly of (Wiaa) proposed two amendments to its policies that would have maintained the sports of girls only to biological females and would potentially offer an open division if the student-athletes were interested.

Washington State is established for a reckoning on trans athletes in women and female sports.
However, the director of the Wiaa switching, Sean Bessette, said in a declaration a Seattle’s times Tuesday that the proposals would violate the state law.
“Wiaa was informed by the office of the Prosecutor General, by the Office for Civil Rights and the Office of Public Education Superintendent which proposed the ML/HS #7 and ML/HS #8 amendments would be a violation pursuant to the current law of the State of Washington, affirming the legal review of our lawyer,” Bessette said to the paper. “Wiaa remains committed to following the state law and these amendments focused on the participation of gender identity would not be implemented on August 1 if the current state law were approved.
“If the state law should change, the Wiaa executive committee has authority and should alter the rules of the association accordingly”.
The proposals will be voted by the representative assembly of 53 people, but changes will not be made to the rules. The proposals entitled ML/HS #7 and ML/HS #8 are only strictly consultative votes.
“The amendment would not be implemented by the current state law. Participation in girls sports would be limited to biological females”, the ML/HS #7 proposal read on the website of the athletic organization.

“The amendment would not be implemented by the current state law. Athletic programs would be offered separately for boys, girls and an open division for all interested students,” read ML/HS #8.
The state law of Washington requires local educational agencies to allow transgender students to participate in interscholastic sports “which are more closely aligned with their gender identity”, according to Wiaa.

“Our state laws clarify that children can identify and participate according to the genre in which they identify themselves. We will support that law.”
Reykdal also insisted on that speech according to which Trump does not have the authority as president of issuing a ban on trans athletes in girls sports, but admitted the United States congress.

Another Washington school district opted to take things in his hands and challenge the state government at the end of February.

The board of directors of the Cumwater School District voted on 3-1 February on February 27 to prohibit the trans athletes to play for women’s sports teams after a dispute advertised at national level that involved one of the women’s basketball teams of his school.
