What the NFL coaches on “push tush” say while the championship vote is approaching

The NFL team staff will vote on a series of changes to the rules during the annual meetings of the League this week in Palm Beach, Florida, and the future of “Push Tush” will finally be decided.
The Green Bay Packers proposed the ban on the championship, the “Tush push”, a game in which the quarterback generally brings the shot to the center and dives while pushing from behind by his teammates. Also called “brother shove”, the game was mainly used by Philadelphia Eagles in short film situations, even if different teams perform different variations.
In a specific language, the proposal of the Packers seems “to prohibit any offensive player to push a teammate who has been lined up directly behind the snapper and receives the shot, immediately at the shot”. The security of the players is among the best arguments against “push tush”, although the data that connect the lesions to the game are not necessarily clear.
“In reality it was not a huge part of the drafting of the proposal or something like that, but they are very supporting it,” said Brian Gutekunst, general manager of Packers. “I think that the medical professionals of the League certainly have great concerns in putting players in positions that could lead to catastrophic injuries. I think this is something that must be discussed and we must be proactive with it rather than being reactive on this.
“I think we owe it to our players. This is not successful. Here it’s about security.”
To become official, 24 of the 32 NFL voters must vote to ban the “push tush” and how how Atletico‘Russin Dadders reported last weekThe momentum is building in that direction.
Here’s what the NFL coaches say about the “Tush thrust” while the vote approaches Tuesday morning.
This story will be updated while more coaches talk to the League meetings. AFC coaches met journalists on Monday. NFC coaches will meet journalists on Tuesday.

Bills Sean McDermott coach
“My biggest concern is the health and safety of the players, first of all. The strength has been added and then the posture of the players who is asked to perform that type of game. This is where my concern arrives,” said McDermott, who is part of the NFL competition committee that examines the proposals as a rule and will present statistics to support the voters.
“It is not a healthy posture, for me. So when adding strength to that posture, I regard to me the health and safety of the players. … For me (Green Bay’s proposal) takes off the strength. The traditional quarterback has been around for a long time. This is the context of what is important. So the push adds the piece of the strength and has raised exponents my concern.
If it continues to manage the “push tush”, McDermott said: “I believe that both teams (Buffalo and Philadelphia) can be equally good in a traditional form of a quarterback, and both teams have shown it … it is a loose term of what defines a” pushing tuscia “. There are different shapes out there.
The Jets Aaron Glenn coach
“They did a good job in creating an unstoppable game. In my defensive coaching mentality, my job is to stop that game. Our job is to stop that game. I will answer this way.”
Coach of Patriots Mike VRabel
“What I think we shouldn’t do and be careful is that there are many different works that you have to defend that the offense is good, and that particular comedy that you need to defend it. It is also difficult to defend Lamar Jackson when it has the ball. So they are everything in favor of getting rid of those comedies that are difficult to defend, but, you only know you only focus on what the rules are and try to use our advantage.

Colts Shane Steichen coach
“I’m not in favor of pulling him out. I think it’s good for the game,” said Steichen, who was the offensive coordinator of the Eagles since 2021-22.
“What (the eagles) do, they do it better than anyone else. Other teams are doing it, Buffalo is doing it. I think it has been around for a long time, to be completely honest, because when you are on the half yard line and you have backed a couple.
Texan coach Demeco Ryans
“It is difficult to punish a team to be really good in something.”

Browns’ coach Kevin Stefanski
“Yes, I don’t know that it is something that must be legislated out of the game. The data of the accidents are not there. So I would be in favor of keeping the rules as I am. Please, coach Sirianni.”

Ravens coach John Harbaugh
“We don’t do it with Lamar. It’s not something we do. I feel like a football game. If it is determined that it is a game of risk of injury, that I think it is what the doctors are worried at this moment, then it is something that we still have to face. If we do not yet.
“If you want to be more coherent, remove all that type of situations pushing out of the game. Downfield or wherever they are. You cannot push the quarterback, maybe we shouldn’t be able to push the guards. We cannot push the defensive guardals on the field of the field, because we don’t see each other, but now we are committed to taking it on the field. It happens.”
Steelers Mike Tomlin coach
“The first time I saw him, I could not believe it was legal because he was illegal on the lens of the field. Having said that, I hate being against it, because when people are innovative, you want to respect it. There were certainly some teams that have been more innovative than the rest of us in this sense, and we have remained a discussion.
“Me, and all the others, we are only listening to the perspective of the medical experts, unlike statistics, because it is not a size of the sample large enough in terms of number of times when the game has been performed, whether it is 2024, or simply in general. Many other comedies, we have a much larger volume to choose from – 40,000 games one year in football. I think it is 170 or so on.
AFC West
The coach of the leaders Andy Reid
“There is an entire medical side. Do (the merit of the eagles) because they have done a job with it. It is a difficult game to stop. But then you are listening to the medical side and you can probably go in both ways. If you are putting a player in a wrong position
