Yamamoto Udon, Melbourne – The Age, Good Food App Reviews

Cozy CBD spot specialized in two types of Japanese Udon.
From the team behind Wagyu Ya and Yakikami by South Yarra, Yamamoto is the last Japanese hot point in the city that focuses on doing something, really well: Udon.
There are two types of Udon here: the large, silky and Himokawa ribbon Udon and longer and thicker Sanuki noodles known for their rubbery and rebound consistency. Only 70 parts of each are handmade every day, before undergoing a two -day aging process to obtain optimal hydration, flavor and dough elasticity.
Choose your udon and choose from 18 flavors including the dashi broth full of umami ready for the pasta that accumulates next to marbled wagyu or rich pork bacon, as well as contemporary twists such as crispy crazy salmon that is located on top of the cream -style Udon in Carbonira style. The selection of snacks includes an entire fried tempura menu, while a spicy yuzu juice is also made in the house.
The space is small but welcoming: placed on a cold winter night or pose to the bar for a rapid lunch on weekdays.
