Yankees face 2 scared lesions between the “worst” weather conditions
NEW YORK – The New York manager Yankees Aaron Boone and the bench coach Brad Ausmus chatted for a while inside the warm Club House. They were still incredulous.
The rain of driving, the heavy wind and the bitter cold have finally forced the referees to end the game at the top of the sixth inning, delivering the Yankees a 9-1 defeat to the San Francisco Giants on Friday evening at the Yankee Stadium.
“Ausmus and I was just talking, and this is probably the worst conditions we have ever experienced,” said Boone. “And we’ve been doing it for a long time.”
The game had a rain delay of 26 minutes before the first step and a rain delay immediately before it was finished.

Gómez said that after the game he felt well, but at the moment Boone said he was “worried” that something could have been wrong with the right.
“My concern was when the (speed) really went to fall, and then it starts to turn into a completely different game, and that’s what I want to avoid,” said the manager.
Boone said the Yankees could “continue talking” with Gómez to make sure he’s fine.
Boone said during the final inning, while the crew of the land tried to do the mound, he was “having those conversations” on the terrible time while he was on the field with the head of the crew and the third referee base Lance Barksdale.
The forecasts for the first shot on Saturday at 15:05 did not seem much better than that of Friday. Up to 3/4 inches of rain were scheduled during the night on Friday, according to the National Weather Service. The service warned of rain with wind up to 33 mph and a maximum of 44 degrees for Saturday morning and more rain in the afternoon. The teams end the series on Sunday afternoon.
Time caused chaos on Friday. The giants midfielder Jung Hoo Lee had difficulty chasing several Moscow balls. The wind has made multiple popups in the stands. Yankees Austin Wells catcher hit a line of line in the second inning which went 106.4 miles per hour from its pig and had an estimated distance of 358 feet, according to Statcast. But the wind knocked him down, forcing him to hit the upper part of the padding on the wall of the right field and keep it double. While on the second base, Wells seemed amazed.
“If I understood that the wind was blowing that way, I could have worked a little stronger,” he said. “But yes. He was crazy.”
Was it the worst time when Wells played?
“It’s up there,” he said.
Boone said he thought it was “a little risky” to start the game. He said that at 17:00, the forecasts seemed positive. But at 18:00, “there were some pessimistic relationships that arrived, but with some optimistic relationships that have arrived”. The first shot did not happen until 19:32, and it was raining since Stroman took the mound until he left.
The security of the players was “obviously” in Boone’s mind during the game and the lifter Ryan Yarbrow, who took Stroman’s place in the first inning and launched 2 2/3 frames, said he thought that the conditions of the mound seemed to deteriorate while the rain continued.
“Less than the ideal,” said Yarbrough.
“It’s just one of those nights that, however cold,” said Boone, “I worried.”
